Plan on arriving at Junkanoo Beach no later than 5:00 am so you have time to drop off any personal items at Gear Drop-Off, use the port-o-potty one last time, hydrate and stretch prior to the start of the race.

Like all marathons, Marathon Bahamas is 26.2 miles. What differentiates us from other marathons is that our country is steeped in history and culture, world renown for its tourism product and a great vacation destination….as a marathoner, you get to run through it all!

The body does not want you to do this. As you run, it tells you to stop but the mind must be strong. You always go too far for your body. You must handle the pain with strategy…It is not age; it is not diet. It is the will to succeed.
Jacqueline Gareau, 1980 Boston Marathon champ
